Résumé : |
The Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) can help regulate certain insects while reducing the use of pesticides. It consists of repeatedly and massively releasing sterilized males of a target insect. Their mating with wild females will result in non-viable egg-laying, leading to a gradual reduction in local populations. In France, several projects are underway to study its technical feasibility, or to validate its effectiveness in an integrated control strategy, but also to study whether it is compatible with the challenges and expectations of the various stakeholders. The Collectif TIS (SIT Collective) federates stakeholders around crosscutting issues of this control method, in particular on how it can be integrated into the French organizational framework. |
