| | Résumé : | Thanks to the most important forest resource among all European countries and one of the first world forestry industry, Finland is the European leader in wood fuel development. It is the first consumer and one of the first producer with Sweden, Germany and France. This country seems to have a well integrated energy policy with very ambitious project. It aims at increasing the renewable energy use by 30% compared to 2001 situation. Development of wood fuel is the most important solution to reach this objective. This development needs to harvest new kind of wood fuel resources, like young thinnings stand and logging residues. But before to enforce the wood fuel production, profitability of forest fuel procurement must be improve.
