Obesity has emerged as major issue of western societies. It is therefore crucial to understand the mechanisms controlling energy intake homeostatis. The vagus nerve is the primary pathway monitoring the presence of nutrients on the GI tract and mediates appropriate behavioral and physiological changes. Nutrient in the GI tract notably play a major role in meal termination. Consumption of a high fat (HF) diet has been shown to diminish satiation possibly via alteration of the vagus pathway.
