Résumé :	Secondary succession is a complex process involving numerous factors operating at multiple scales. Understanding secondary succession in tropical dry forests is important for the conservation and restoration of the highly threatened biome. This thesis presents a combination of literature synthesis, observational and experimental approaches to sudy plant-plant interactions and community changes during succession. Overall the results contribute to improve undestanding of trajectories and drivers of secondary succession in tropical dry forests, and the underlying mechanisms.
