In addition to new incentive measures, it is the rise of new actors and new forms of governance that have profoundly shaped the way resources are regulated today. In,light of this development, this note compiles current concepts, methods and tools for the governance of renewable natural resources. It emphasizes the variety of options available – each of which can be the adequate regulatory response depending on the local political, socioeconomic and ecological context.
