The objective of this report is to identify an aproach to model the socio-economic system of the Senegal basin in the context of the development of this integrated model. We will therefore first expose briefly the objective of the integrated model, and the type of approach selected to meet this objective. The main characteristics of the Senegal River Basin socio-economic system will be presented subsequently. We will then review the approaches the most widely used for developing and integrated model that consider the socio-economic system. Finally, considering the objectives and framework chosen for the integrated model, we will discuss the approach selected to model the agricultural sector. |
