Résumé : |
Rodents annually cause considerable losses in quality and quantity in almost all kinds of field crops and stored products. From time to time, spectacular outbreaks occur, thereby focusing attention on the ever-present rodent problem. Recent examples are rodent outbreaks reported from Syria, Sudan, Egypt and Morocco. In the Near East, many rodent species are found in various agricultural and natural habitats. The knowledge and local expertise existing in the Near East are often not readily available. With this in mind the present publication has been prepared. The information provided is based on published litterature and reports with limited distribution, as well as recent FAO surveys in the region. It is hoped that this publication will be of direct use to Near East Member Countries [...] Rodents annually cause considerable losses in quality and quantity in almost all kinds of field crops and stored products.
