Forest management should take into account these forest gradients in forest inventory and adapt silvicultural methods and species choice to the position on the gradient. Conservation of biodiversity is needed over the entire gradient and a "green sickle" is proposed to link National Parks and Forest reserves from savanna down to the Atlantic coast. |
