Résumé : |
In Laos, water is source of life for local population. Rivers and groundwater is used for drinking, domestic uses and irrigation. The potential impacts of NT2 project on the water quality downstream of the construction areas could be limited by implementation of environmental mitigation measures. These preventive actions consist in sediment and erosion control, waste water control, hazardous products and waste management. Drainage systems, sedimentation ponds, protection of slopes have been implemented on site. In the camps, a separation of the sullage drainage from the runoff has been necessary for dry season. Changes of behavior regarding the waste collection have allowed an adequate waste management to protect the groundwater. Hazardous spillage represents the main environmental em[...]

Changes of behavior regarding the waste collection have allowed an adequate waste management to protect the groundwater. Hazardous spillage represents the main environmental emergency but thanks to good practices of storage and handling , no accident of water contamination has occured since may 2005. A water monitoring has been performed to control the |
