La sous-trame forestière constitue un enjeu particulier par sa surface, le nombre limité de réservoirs de biodiversité et la fragmentation des milieux. Pourtant, la répartition et l’étendue de ses habitats sont mal connues, limitant la mise en oeuvre d’une démarche opérationnelle. La présente étude propose une méthode de caractérisation (nature, ancienneté, évolution), par groupes cohérents d’habitats, au regard des connaissances et données numériques spatialisées disponibles. Bien que perfectible et issu de modèles présentant des imprécisions ou des erreurs, le résultat apparaît cohérent. Il permettra d’évaluer les enjeux de fragmentation par type d’habitat (ou d’espèce) et son croisement avec les données d’exploitation permettra de préconiser la création de nouveaux îlots de préservation, en spécifiant la localisation et le type d’habitat à privilégier. The regional natural reserve of Lorraine transcribed the knowledge of its ecological network in the form of a Green and blue framework. The forest sub-framework constitutes a particular stake by its surface, the limited number of biodiversity reservoirs and the fragmentation of the circles. Nevertheless, the distribution and the area of its habitats are poorly known, limiting the implementation of an operational approach. The present study proposes a methodology of characterization (nature, age, evolution), by coherent groups of habitats, with regard to the knowledge and the spatialized digital data available. Although perfectible and stemming from models presenting inaccuracies or errors, the result seems coherent. It will allow to estimate the stakes in fragmentation by type of species and its crossing with the data of exploitation will permit a recommendation for the creation of new islands of conservation, by specifying the localization and the type of habitats to be favored.
